The Spring 2018 Iowa Watershed Academy training event will be held May 30-31 at the Borlaug Learning Center and Iowa State University Northeast Research Farm near Nashua, Iowa. This event will feature site assessment, in-field data collection, design and installation considerations for bioreactors, saturated buffers and wetlands. Each practice will have a classroom and field component where hands on siting and design skills will be gained.
The agenda also includes sessions on new outreach tools for edge of field practices, conservation easements and land acquisition, and applying the Diffusion of Innovation to scale up practice implementation. This event is sponsored by the Iowa Natural Resources Conservation Service, Soil and Water Conservation Society, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, Iowa Agriculture Water Alliance, Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship and the Iowa Watershed Approach. Due to the generous support from these organizations, there is no registration fee.
